QI GONG SPRING CEREMONY

Can words describe the fragrance of the very breath of spring?
A new kind of light is pouring through from the dream-like mist of winter's rest. Listening for signals from nature - we hear birds returning to wake up life with their song. Giving ear, tuning in. These sounds bring a feeling of newness through the air... A new kind of potential, where anything is possible.
Spring is a powerful time for new beginnings.
Together we will prepare rich ground
to plant seeds of wellbeing, health & balance.
The intention of this gathering is to explore seasonality through shared holistic practices that strengthen body and re-balance internal energy. This is an invitation to explore tools which allow for a deeper connection to the life-force energy inside and outside.

KEY ELEMENTS

Qi Gong - A spring seasonal practice - with Claire Waumsley

Claire is a physiotherapist, acupuncturist and Qi Gong teacher with a lifetime of experience in the healing arts. Her approach offers integrative body-work which can affect vitality, clarity and inner-peace.
‘Moving, be like a river
Still, be like a mirror.’
- Zhuangzi, 3rd Century BCE
Chinese Qi Gong - literally translated as ‘energy cultivation’. A time honoured practice originally known as 'breath work', 'Dao Yin' and 'Yang Shen' the nourishment of life.
Over this weekend our Qi Gong practice will reflect on Spring - the season of growth and abundance. In Chinese Medicine the organ associated with spring is the liver. Known as the wood element it reflects the energy of the tree. A strong rootedness, the flexibility of the trunk and the possibilities of the branches and leaves to move with the breezes of life.
We will begin with the basics of Qi Gong and then move into Swimming Dragon practices working with both strength and flexibility to give us resilience in both body, emotions and mind.

Council Guide Process work - with David Plenderleith

David is passionate about group facilitation and helping individuals realise their fullest potential. Sanctioned as a Council Guide to teach The Original Teachings of the Delicate Lodge, David travels with a bundle of wisdom which is offered as maps of consciousness in ceremonial settings.
Both profound and highly practical, these teachings are from an oral tradition of the indigenous peoples of the Americas, who understood what was needed for humans to live together in harmony while at the same time honoring individual freedom and self authority. In this understanding, we are all sacred beings - along with "all our relations", meaning all other life forms in our universe.

Nutritional work - with Florian Baumann

Food is not just to nourish the body but a medium to relax the mind, touch the heart and invite spirit to dance within its sacred temple. Florian will gift us his vast array of international experience in the Mediterranean & South East Asian seas - incorporating holistic health for high vibrational nourishment.
With a focus on quality and well-being, Florian will be designing a seasonal menu, sourcing food from local lands to support the physical and spiritual intentions of our ceremony.

Venue - Uithoek Farm, Elands Bay, West Coast.

White-washed, stone-cottage walls and reed thatch set in an expansive landscape, with golden sunrises & morning mists over the Bay.
An inviting cozy cottage interior, crackling evening fires and shared meals around a long table. There are a variety of comfortable room options, a wood-fired heated pool and plenty of outdoor space for quiet contemplation & practice.
